RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Nov. 22, 2011 – DuPont Microcircuit Materials (MCM), a business unit of DuPont Electronics & Communications, has introduced its latest screen printed silver conductor material for the printed electronics market.  Utilizing proprietary technology and under typical processing conditions used for many printed electronic applications, DuPont 5064H silver conductor ink provides resistivity less than or equal to six milliohms per square per mil, making it among the most conductive and cost-effective screen printed silver conductor material on the market today.  DuPont continues to expand its portfolio of functional inks and pastes for the growing printed electronics industry.

“Printed electronics manufacturers are looking for ways to do more with less material, and this new development is filling that critical need,” said Scott Gordon, market segment manager -- DuPont Microcircuit Materials.  “DuPont 5064H can reduce silver cost by providing higher conductivity with thinner prints of conductor traces.  Some of our customers with applications requiring high current, who previously required the conductivity achieved by a double print step, are now able to save the second print process step with a single print of 5064H and still achieve the desired conductivity.”

DuPont 5064H can be printed onto a variety of substrates, including Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), Polyethylene-Naphthalate (PEN), DuPont™ Kapton® polyimide films, paper, and more.  The composition is solvent based and was designed to be screen printed in semiautomatic or high volume reel-to-reel applications.

This and more DuPont MCM products will be featured at this year’s Printed Electronics USA trade show, Nov. 30 – Dec. 1, 2011, which is co-located with Photovoltaics USA 2011 in Santa Clara, Calif.  Also highlighted will be the new low temperature processing DuPont™ Solamet® PV414 photovoltaic metallization paste, designed for rotary screen printing to enable high speed roll-to-roll processing of thin and flexible solar cells and modules.

DuPont MCM is an established high-volume supplier of electronic inks and pastes and offers a broad range of printed electronic materials commercially available today. This growing range of DuPont MCM functional inks is used for forming conductive traces, capacitor and resistor elements, and dielectric and encapsulating layers that are compatible with many substrate surfaces including polyester, glass and ceramic.  MCM has over 40 years of experience in the development, manufacture, sale and support of specialized thick film compositions for a variety of electronic applications in the automotive, display, photovoltaic, biomedical, industrial, military and telecommunications markets.  For more information on DuPont Microcircuit Materials, visit http://mcm.dupont.com.
